Nevertheless,we must point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may have security gaps, so that a complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Information about data protection when participating in the email mailing list

For contacting you, we have implemented several email distributions lists. By registering at such an email list, you agree to the procedures described below and have no objection to receiving emails from us as part of the email distribution : -)

General information

We send emails via our mailing lists only with the prior consent of the recipients.

Double Opt-In and Logging

The registration for our mailing list is done via the “double opt-in” procedure. This means, that after registration, everyone will receive an email with a request to confirm their email address. This confirmation is done by clicking on a link in the confirmation email and is necessary so that no one can register with a foreign email address.

The registration process is logged in order to prove this double opt-in process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation timing, as well as the IP address used in this process. Likewise, later changes to your data stored in the email system will be logged.

Use of the marketing platform “Kartra” for sending emails

We use the service provider Kartra to operate our mailing lists. Kartra is a platform of the company “Genesis Digital LLC” from California, USA.

The email addresses of my mailing list recipients as well as their other data described in this notice are stored on the servers of Kartra in the USA. Kartra uses this information only for sending and evaluating email campaigns on our behalf.

Kartra does not use this data to contact you or to pass on your email address to third parties.

Registration Data

To register for the mailing list, it is sufficient to provide your email address. Optionally, I ask you to include your first name - this is only for better personalization of the emails.

Statistical analysis

All emails sent via Kartra contain a so-called “web-beacon”. This is a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from Kartra’s servers when the email is opened. As part of this call, technical information is collected, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval. Statistical analysis also include determining whether emails are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. This information is used only by us and only to improve the services based on the technical data or the target audiences and their reading behaviour.

On some of my websites I have integrated a Kartra JavaScript code that provides me with information via which web-pages you signed up for an email list.

For technical reasons, all the described information can be assigned to the individual email recipients. However, it is neither our desire, nor that of Kartra, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve only to identify the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them.

Online access to emails and data management

There are cases when email recipients are directed to the websites of Kartra. For example, emails may contain a link by which the email can also be read online in the browser (e.g. in case of display problems in your email program). In addition, as an email recipient, you can correct your data - such as the email address - after registration. These changes are made through websites hosted by Kartra.

In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on the websites of Kartra and therefore personal data are processed by Kartra, its partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection.

Further information can be found in Kartra’s privacy policy. Details on how Kartra handles the GDPR can be found here.

You can cancel your participation in the mailing list at any time. At the same time, your consents to be emailed via Kartra and the statistical analyses will expire. A separate revocation of the sending of emails via Kartra or the statistical analysis is not possible.

You will find a link to unsubscribe from the mailing list at the end of every email.

Disabling cookies

You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software. In this case, however, not all functions of our websites may be fully used.
